Jack’s guitar was stolen today by someone with access to our practice space. We are hurt and blindsighted that someone we know would do this to us, and still not entirely sure what we’ll have to do to recoup the loss. We have already filed a report with the police and will be notified if it turns up at a pawn shop, but we suspect that the person, who has a publicly accessible criminal history, will not go that route. In that case, the chances of us recovering the guitar are potentially quite slim, even if the individual is caught and reprimanded.
Now is as good of a time as ever to let you all know that the album you helped fund through Kickstarter is finally complete. It wasn’t as simple or fast of a process as we had hoped or planned, but it is finished nonetheless, and we couldn’t possibly be more proud of it, or more thankful for the contributions and support of our fans. We are now working overtime to send out the rewards we promised to you all as soon as possible; our goal is within the next two weeks. In light of what happened today, we will be selling a limited-run pre-release of the album at our gig with Saddle of Centaur in York, PA tomorrow in an effort to begin saving for a new guitar whilst giving you something tangible immediately in return. Thank you all so much for your continued patience with the record-making process, and support of our passion. Expect the “real” album release party in Baltimore to be some time in late July or August.
We’re beyond excited to return to the stage tomorrow after such a long hiatus from live performances. In the spirit of DIY, we plan to make rock music happen in the face of anything, making do with what we have, and hoping that the product is more interesting because of it.
